Why are emails rejected after SPF verification?
If the SPF check is enabled as part of the inbound filtering policy, Vade Cloud™ can automatically delete emails which did not pass strict sender authentication tests.
Conditions met for SPF reject
SPF record check will ensure that the message was emitted from IP addresses that are authorized to send email for the sender's domain. SPF is a reliable source of information as it is declared at the DNS level by the domain administrator himself. SPF can be set or not, and if set, can be strict (hard fail) or not. Vade Cloud™ can reject messages because of SPF only if:
- an SPF record was found,
- the SPF check is strict (configured as hard fail),
- the sender's authenticity has not passed the tests.
