How to verify that emails are properly sent and received?

Detailed filtering logs allow you to trace messages from end to end, i.e. from the time they arrived on the platform until they were delivered to the downstream messaging server.

The entries in the detailed logs are row log lines, which require a good understanding of SMTP and messaging techniques.

The entries you may want to check first in the logs are the sender's address (from), IP addresses, or the response from the downstream server which either accepts or rejects the message with a self-explanatory error in most cases. Thanks to the log information, you can ensure that a given message properly went through the platform, that it was properly processed, and eventually delivered.
