Inbound filtering
The following settings allow you to configure the desired filtering policy for inbound traffic by navigating to
.The following settings control how the user will interact with emails that are filtered by the platform.
Actions on identified messages
- Route
- Identified graymails will be delivered to the mailbox of the user.
- Tag
- This action adds a custom prefix to the identified graymails before delivering them to the mailbox of the user.
- Quarantine (default)
- Identified graymails will be retained by the platform in the quarantine of the user (or global inbound quarantine if user accounts are disabled).
- Drop
- Identified graymails are deleted by the platform, after they have successfully
completed the SMTP transaction with the sender, so that the sender does not know that
the message has been deleted. Warning: Vade does not recommend using this option for graymail, as some users may wish to read some of the graymail content.
- Reject
- Identified graymails are rejected by the platform at the time the SMTP client sends
the email, so that the sender knows that the message is rejected.Warning: Vade does not recommend using this option for graymail, as some users may wish to read some of the graymail content.
Authentication protocols
- Activate DKIM verification
- DKIM verification makes sure the message was signed by a known sender, and that the message remained untouched after it was sent.
- Activate SPF verification
- SPF verification ensures that the message was sent from one of the authorized IP addresses that were declared for the sender domain.
Other restrictions
- Email maximum size (Mb)
- Drag the cursor to set the maximum message size you want to allow. Messages larger than this size will be rejected by Vade Cloud™.
- Forbidden filename extensions
- You may enter additional file extensions that you wish to forbid for message attachments. This field uses a regular expression to declare the various extensions, and it defaults to pcre:\.(com|exe|pif|bat|scr|cpl|cmd|dll|lnk|inf|msi|sct|vbs|vb|vbe)$.
